The ACWAP 2020 coordinators are busy finalising the details to make this a fantastic event. The website will be updated with new information in the lead-up to October 2020. If you'd like to be notified when we've got exciting news, join our mailing list!

By Plane:
Darwin has an international airport, which services direct flights from Asia. The Singapore-Darwin route is especially popular as flight times are just under 4 hours.

The domestic airport is linked by various local airlines to all the major cities in Australia (although often with a stop on the way). Direct flights generally take between 3-4 hours.
Darwin airport is situated 6km from the town centre and is easily reached by shuttle bus and taxi.
By Bus/Coach:
Darwin is also served by interstate coachlines, from Western Australia via Broome and Kununurra, from Queensland via Mt Isa, or from the south via Alice Springs. Be aware, however, that these are very long coach trips, requiring at least overnight or all day to reach interstate destinations. The transit centre, where all buses arrive and depart, is in the centre of the city.

Welcome to the top end!

Situated on the very edge of the Northern Territory this coastal community is home to possibly the friendliest and most culturally diverse people in Australia.

The Larrakia people, or the ‘Saltwater people”, are the traditional owners of the Darwin region and have maintained close trade relationships with neighbouring communities such as the Tiwi, Wagait and Wulna. Today, around 2000 Larrakia live in the Darwin region and are recognised for their talent in music, performance and art.

The city's proximity to Asia means you'll also find strong Asian influences, especially in the energetic food scene and night markets.
